This clip has been sent my way. Speed humps are found absolutely everywhere in Dubai. They appear overnight, and some are incredibly viscous. It's no wonder the car people aspire to owning out here is a V8 Land Cruiser or a Range Rover Sport. Unfortunately some other wealthy people aspire for faster machines.... (The last part of the clip is the best)

Better Driving?
Dubai, famous for it's broad range of driving standards has a contest to find good drivers. Apparently the Emirates Motor Sports Federation set out for one day a year looking people "adhering to basic road rules". Must be tough to find winners.....

Websites blocked
Dubai seems to block websites in an uneven fashion. Obviously websites of dubious nature are blocked, but so to are innocent websites such as Flickr.com and Skype.com. When you try to access them you receive the following message:
Depending on your ISP, and your location in the city these sites may or may not be blocked. It's very strange. Rumours are floating around that the filters will soon be tightened. We'll see!

Let it rain
Yesterday morning, Dubai was hit by a freak thunderstorm. We haven't had any rain since January, and none is really expected at this time of year. Infact, none of the weather reports forecast it either. In todays news we found out that the rain was a result of an experiment in cloud seeding. Well if that is the case, it certainly works!

Moving to a hotter country
So, here i am, sitting in a very warm Dubai. Iceland's snow, and quirks now seem far away. If you're interested in life in Iceland take a look at the howdoyoulikeiceland blog.
